Red Sox Making Moves: Aaron Hill and Michael Martinez

Aaron Hill

The Boston Red Sox have dipped into the trade market by acquiring infielder Aaron Hill and cash considerations from the Milwaukee Brewers. The Red Sox ship over two minor league players: right-handed pitcher Aaron Wilerson and infielder Wendell Rijo.

Hill is currently hitting .283 with 8 homers, 11 doubles and 29 RBI. He’s been playing 3rd for the Brewers, but over his career he’s started 1,164 games at second base, 127 at third base, and 61 at shortstop.

In a separate move, the Red Sox have added infielder/outfielder Michael Martinez from the Cleveland Indians in exchange for cash considerations.
